critical to achieving your inner peace
The classes taught during Body Mind Restoration Retreats range from physical and mental exercises (cognitive kinesiology), education in preventative medicines, meditation, yoga, instruction in recipes, and more. Our retreats offer more than an opportunity to detoxifying and cleanse the body, they educate our guests on how to carry these fundamental lifestyle habits into their daily lives beyond their stay with us.

specific classes
Cognitive Kinesiology: Cognitive Kinesiology is a unique series of classes developed by Marcia Radin over a half century of study. It employs breathing techniques, guided visualizations, and stretching while using breath and counter-force, to safely explore a wider range of movement. It deals with the improvement of posture, elimination of pain, and quieting the mind through absorption in subtle awareness of the body. The guided visualizations cover many emotional topics. These exercises enable a person to safely explore the range of motion of the body with particular emphasis on the spinal column, hip and shoulder sockets. It also uses guided visualizations to clarify the body/mind connection.
Preventive Medicine: the instruction to enable the participant to make informed choices regarding diet and lifestyle.
Meditation: the meditation is nonsectarian. Beginners’ instruction will be given and no previous experience is assumed. The evening meditation will include a talk/ discussion about meditation led by David Radin, director of the Ithaca Zen Center.
Yoga: A certified interdisciplinary yoga instructor will conduct classes at varying levels of intensity from beginning to advanced in the ancient art of Hatha Yoga.
Recipe class: instruction in preparing all the foods presented in the retreat.
“The retreats have massively reduced heavy metal poisoning that has plagued me most of my adult life crippling my circulatory systems and heart. Better, the skills and information I absorbed have changed by lifestyle immensely.”
“When I arrived two years ago my blood pressure was 205/100 on medication. Today my pressure is 120/70 without taking medication. Thank you David and Marcia and staff for giving me the tools for my health transformation.”
“What an amazing experience! My joints feel so much better. I can feel myself “melting away” in a good way. A great staff, great foods prepared with so much love in a soft green paradise. Thanks so much!!!”
